Belltown’s Antique Car Show Marks 54th Year on August 1st

East Hampton, Conn. - The Belltown Antique Car Club will host its 54th Annual Vintage Motorcar Meet on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Always the first Sunday in August, the show is held at the Haddam Neck Fairgrounds in Haddam Neck. Take Rte. 151 (on the east side of the Conn. River) south from Cobalt or north from East Haddam to Haddam Neck Rd. Bear left onto Quarry Hill Rd. after the firehouse to reach the Fairgrounds entrance.

Stock, unmodified antique cars & trucks at least 40 years old (up to 1981) will be judged in 24 classes, eligible for our unique “Belltown Bell” trophies. The first 300 show cars will get a dash plaque. There promises to be an interesting mix of everything from Brass-Era cars to 1960’s muscle cars, orphan nameplates to luxury marques, and classic sports cars to vintage pick-ups. Judging begins at noon, trophies awarded at 3 p.m. A display-only area will be provided for hot rods, kit cars and modified collector cars (up to 1981) that are not eligible for trophies. All vehicles newer than 40 years old must go to the spectator parking area.

Also included in the event is a flea market with vendors offering antique car parts, tools and other merchandise of interest to collector car hobbyists. Food and refreshment sales will be provided by the Masonic Lodge #112 of East Hampton.

About the Belltown Antique Car Club

The Belltown Antique Car Club is one of the oldest independent, non-make specific clubs dedicated to antique car owners and enthusiasts in Connecticut. It was founded in 1968 in East Hampton, Conn., a town in the east-central part of the state whose history is linked to the manufacture of brass bells (hence its nickname, Belltown).

When: The third Wednesday Night of Each Month, April through September!

Where: Colchester Green

Details: Beginning in April and running to September, Good Times Motoring Club holds a cruise on the Green every third Wednesday (fourth Wednesday in case of rain) on the Colchester Town Green. The show begins around 5:00 PM and lasts until after sunset. Colchester has several good restaurants, a classic hot dog stand and interesting boutiques for dining and shopping before the show. The show is limited to all antique, unique and specialty cars and trucks with NO FEE to show or for admission. We will be accepting voluntary donations as you enter the Green to help us support the charities of our choice.  We keep a family atmosphere without burnouts or alcohol. Food and donations go to support club and local charities.

NOTICE We regret that no vehicle 1988 and newer will be allowed on the Green. Due to overcrowding and concerns by the Town, we had no choice but to change our venue. Thank you for your understanding.

Due to limited space on the green GTMC reserves the right to deny any vehicle admission to the Green. Personnel on duty at the entrance have the final decision to grant or deny access.
